Healthier Super Bowl Snacks....Fast and easy!








Are you ready for some football? Or maybe just some funny commercials and a great halftime show? Well, you don't have to give up and eat Super unhealthy today. Start your day off with some healthy fruits and vegetables and drink lots of water to give your body a proper jump start for the festivities to come. Here are some great tasting healthier alternatives to the heavy greasy food we usually associate with the Super Bowl. If you are headed to a friends house maybe you can whip up one of these dishes and bring it with you. If you have a favorite healthy snack recipe that you would like to share please post it below.



How to make a healthy vegetarian Sausage Pizza
1/2 lavash whole grain wrap
1/3 Cup Natural Marinara Sauce
1/3. Cup Low fat low sodium mozzarella cheese (Vegan cheese availible at Whole Foods and other health food stores. My favorite is daiya, it melts and stretches just like real cheese...sooo good!)
1/4 Vegan Italian sausage
2 Artichoke hearts diced
3 diced mushrooms
1 T. Olive and Roasted Tomato Relish

Use no stick spray to spray pizza pan, and use a pan with holes in it to make it crispy. Add marinara sauce, cheese and other toppings. Bake in 400 degree preheated oven for 5-6 minutes...



How to make a healthy black bean and corn dip
15oz can black beans (drained and rinsed)
15oz can whole kernal corn (drained)
1/2 medium onion (finely chopped)
1 large tomato (finely chopped)
1/ green bell pepper (finely chopped)
Jalapenos (de-seeded and finely chopped - to taste)
5 sprigs of cilantro (finely chopped)
2 tbsp taco seasoning
Salt (to taste)
Lemon or lime juice (to taste)



How to make a healthy guacamole
2 avocados
1 tomato (finely chopped)
2 tbsp minced onion
2 tbsp chopped cilantro
Juice from a lime
2 jalapenos (seeded and minced)
Salt (to taste)
Pepper (to taste)




How to make a healthy roasted red dill potato wedges
Potatoes (washed)
Olive oil
Salt
Pepper
Dill
Ketchup

Bake in 400 degree preheated oven for 30 minutes...flip over after 20 min.
